I just had to post these:

The infamous pout that all my kids do.
So heartbraking.
Thank goodness it doesn't happen often.

Now that's better.

The birthday girl!

Sitting down for our birthday supper.

Making cupcake bites (thanks Bakerella!)

P was more into eating the smarties. I have no idea how many she inhaled.

Mouth chock full of sweets.
Yummy.

My mom was here to celebrate with us.

Happy Birthday big girl!

New crocs that LIGHT UP from Liz! Thanks Liz- P thinks now that she has to wear those on her bike because she got them all together.

Liz thought of my son too. Egg shaped sidewalk chalk.
Thanks Liz!

Closing her eyes waiting for her gift from mommy and daddy.

An elmo bike that sings! We're hoping this will ignite the fire to ride now that she has her own
since she was always trying to ride her big brother's.

Opening a special card from Ellie-Ma. It sings the Itsy Bitsy Spider.

A helmet from Ellie-Ma!

She's fully equipped.

Some birthday money from Great-Grandma! Thanks Great-Grandma.

I often pick up things for the kids that I know they'll like for when they get birthday money.
P got an aqua doodle with her money.
:)

And just like that we move on to another year. Wow.

Tim Hortons is predominantly a Canadian thing as you know. But as we crossed the border in Niagara Falls into the US of A we both suddenly craved coffee and the caffeine buzz we knew would follow (lack of sleep due to copious amounts of Rock Band can do that to you). Much to our delight we saw a Tim Hortons just off our exit for lunch which we happened to miss because of some directional confusion (not pointing any fingers). About 20 minutes later we happened upon a rest stop with a Tim Hortons in it. Yay!

I went in to order a large for my hubby and a medium for myself. I was really confused when I looked at the prices and saw that these coffees were more pricy than the Canadian version.

As I began ordering, I learned that OUR medium's were their SMALLS. So OUR large was actually their mediums. When I glanced up at the size charts I was astounded at their size of an Extra large coffee.

American Extra Large and Medium (of course we had to buy one!)

Trying to put it into perspective.

It was huge. And no he didn't drink it all.

Caffeine fix definitely satisfied.

Next stop was my Aunt and Uncle near Buffalo, USA. This stop was long overdue. We had hoped to go visit them last year but it never ended panning out. We vowed to ourselves that we'd make it happen this year.We had some nice quality time here. The kids really enjoyed Uncle Rei's crayons

P really enjoyed Aunt Dorothy's water filled doll.

Computers and sour gummy bears. Yum!
We ate soo much on holidays. It was so hard to say no to all the treats.

More computer down time in the evening. I just loved how we could all be doing our own thing but still together in the same room.

Aunt Dorothy and H.

My big little girl.

Chomping down on dinosaur eggs.
These were a must on our list of things to get while visiting.

They are candy coated chocolate eggs that have a dinosaur gummy in the middle.
We promised we wouldn't give up the name of the little shoppe that sold them.

Some group shots before we left. Poor Uncle Rei had his hands full.
He was pretty popular.

We tried for a family shot. :)

Back on the road again. Home here we come.

P looking for toe jam.
It's a thing my kids do when they have nothing else to do.
Just what you need to close off a good road trip.
Hmmmm Timmy's.
